This Privacy Policy describes how OpenLearn AI ("we", "us", "OpenLearn") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our website, web chat, Telegram bot, and related services (the "Service").

1. Who We Are

OpenLearn AI operates the Service. For privacy inquiries, contact us at support@open-learn.ai.

2. Information We Collect

Account data. When you register, we collect your email, password (stored as a bcrypt/argon2 hash), and optionally your display name and avatar. If you sign in with Google or Telegram, we receive the identifiers and profile fields those providers return.

Chat content. Messages you send, files you upload, and AI responses you receive are stored to provide chat history, search, and regeneration. You can delete individual chats at any time.

Usage data. Model selections, token counts, balance spending, request timestamps, and aggregate error metrics — used for billing, capacity planning, and abuse prevention.

Payment data. We do not store full card numbers. Payments are processed by Stripe (international) and YooKassa (Russia); we retain transaction IDs, amounts, currency, and status.

Technical data. IP address, user-agent, approximate region derived from IP, and session cookies — used for authentication, security, and rate limiting.

3. How We Use Information

  • Operate and improve the Service.
  • Route requests to AI providers and return responses.
  • Bill your account and prevent fraud.
  • Send account-related emails (verification, password reset, receipts).
  • Comply with legal obligations (tax records, law-enforcement requests).

4. Third-Party Processors

We share the minimum data necessary with these processors:

  • AI providers — OpenAI, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, Google (Gemini), Anthropic. Your prompts and any attached context are sent to the provider backing the model you select. Providers may log requests per their own policies.
  • Payment — Stripe, YooKassa.
  • Transactional email — Resend.
  • Telegram Login / Telegram Bot API — for Telegram-based authentication and bot features.
  • Infrastructure — our own servers and Cloudflare for DNS/edge routing.

We do not sell personal information.

5. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies:

  • Session cookie (session) — required to keep you signed in.
  • Preference cookies — language and UI settings.
  • Cloudflare cookies — set by Cloudflare for bot protection and DDoS mitigation.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

6. Data Retention

  • Account data — kept while your account is active, plus 30 days after deletion for backup rotation.
  • Chat history — kept indefinitely while you are a user; you can delete chats at any time.
  • Payment records — retained as required by tax and accounting law (typically 4–6 years).
  • Server logs — 30 days.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR in the EU/UK, 152-ФЗ in Russia, CCPA in California, and similar laws), you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Export your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

To exercise any right, email support@open-learn.ai from the address associated with your account. We respond within 30 days.

8. International Transfers

Our infrastructure may process data in multiple regions. Where data leaves your jurisdiction, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

9. Security

We use TLS for all network traffic, encrypt passwords with industry-standard hashing, keep secrets outside source control, and limit access to production systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce risk.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from children under these ages. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes

We will post material changes here with a revised "Last updated" date. If the change is significant, we will also notify you by email.
